Angel Network (ongoing)

There are so many things and situations that affect us every day and sometimes help is needed!  Help us help those in need due to illness, death, divorce, financial burdens or other issues.  You can be an 'angel' to someone who needs an extra hand.  Join our list of volunteers who are called when a need arises!  Donations can also be made at anytime; please contact Bobbi Hilt.

Baking Committee (ongoing)  

The baking committee coordinates volunteers for baked goods for events, including the Holiday Shop, Bingo Night and the Festival.  The committee contacts the volunteers, sends reminders of upcoming events, coordinates setup and drop-off, and price items for bake sales.

Communications/Public Relations (ongoing)  

With an emphasis on going paperless and 'Green', our PTC website is a growing opportunity as a method of electronically communicating the latest news and events, current fundraisers, general information about the PTC, etc.  But we are in need of help!  If you have an interest in communications or public relations, this is a great way to get involved!  Some of the ongoing responsibilities with this chair include updating the PTC website, communicating with the press about PTC events/fundraisers or connecting with neighboring schools.

Grant Committee (Oct/Nov)  

The grant committee decides how the money raised through PTC fundraisers is awarded and used within the school.  Grants are awarded based on requests for items from the teachers and staff that are needed in the school but are not included in the school budget.  Examples of items purchased in the past:  books, dye cuts, chair buddies for the Kindergarten classrooms (pockets that attach to the students' chairs to hold their supplies).

Library Volunteers (ongoing)  

The library is always looking for parents to help!  Classes are continually browsing through the library and volunteers are needed to help with returning books or helping a child select an age appropriate book to take home for the week.

PAC (ongoing)  

Learn what is happening in our District!  PAC members attend informational school board meetings and relay the information to the PTC.  This committee helps keep everyone informed about what is happening at all levels of education!

Restaurant Committee (ongoing)

New committee!  This committee will organize a monthly or bi-monthly restaurant night or food sale.  Look for details soon.

School Directory (Fall)  

This great book helps to organize Macungie Elementary students' contact information.  It is a great tool for students to get in touch with their friends or parents to contact other Macungie Elementary families.  This book is printed in early Fall.

Staff Appreciation (Nov/April)  

During conference week, the PTC provides lunches to the teachers and staff as a way to say thank you for a great job!  If you are interested in donating any home baked item, please consider joining this committee!

The PTC is a great way to get involved with your child!  Many options are available to fit your schedule, so volunteer as little or as much as you can!  Consider volunteering today!

Yearbook (ongoing)  

This book is a great keepsake for your child to remember his/her years at Macungie Elementary!  During the year, we are looking for parents to take photos of the classes, school events*, etc. and upload them to a website, help organize photos and page layouts, and manage the yearbook orders in the Spring.
